Citrusy Chicken Wing

Well hello there =)
Tell me, what's the first thing that came to your mind when you hear the recipe's name for today?
orange? lime? something sour? tasty chicken wings *yumm* ? BBQ?
All of the above has a strong connection between each other.
Now lets' talk 'bout the recipe's history. I'm a hardcore fan of BBQ. I used to have BBQ every week before I pursue my education. When people heard of BBQ,automatically they thought of chicken wings, sausages and much more meat products. Thus, after all the BBQ session, I tried to create my own recipe to go with the chicken wings. Its not as the usual marinate agents such as BBQ sauce, soy sauce, salt, pepper and on and on and on......... So here it goes.

Citrusy Chicken Wings

  • 2 oranges
  • 1 lemon
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 kg of chicken wings.
  • fine sugar
  • lemongrass (whole stalk, pound with a pestle)
*if you are about to make more chicken wings from this recipe, remember to double the quantity of the ingredients.

Steps :
1)  Firstly, clean the chicken wings and remove any dirts and feathers. Strained it to dry.
2)  After it is well dried, transfer into a container and incorporated all the ingredients together.
3 ) Zess the oranges and the lemon skin and mix it with the chicken wings.
4)  Squeezed the juices from the orange and add it to the chicken wing. Not too much. This not only adds flavour to the meat but also removes any foulty smells from the poultry.
5 )  Leave it overnight of or if you are in a rush, you can just leave it to marinate for couple of hours.
You can either BBQ, grill, baked or fry the chicken wing. Suit yourself =D

Hope you enjoy it =)
Good Luck and Happy Cooking!

Cheers,
C.S.J =)
